It is time for round two of Mama’s Charmers! This week we’re talking wedding entertainment!

In case you missed the first one, you can find it here: http://southerncharmevents.org/2015/09/28/mamas-charmers-dan-harris-photography/

We all know that a party isn’t really a party without music! Although the timeline for the day is our responsibility, keeping things moving once the reception starts can’t be accomplished as easily without a good DJ! Not only do they keep the guest in the loop on what is about to happen, but the have the joy of introducing you as husband and wife to all of your family and friends. Of playing your first dance. And keeping your guests dancing into the evening.

Having a reputable DJ is really important- one that is professional, unobtrusive, experience and insured is a must!

That said, please meet one of our go-to’s, Kevin Santos of Party Solutions ENT!

What is something that you wish more people knew about your business?  There is nothing more important than our Brides. In 2014 we assisted 3 Brides in finding new venues for their special day when complications grew with their venues. On the opposite end of the spectrum  we unfortunately had 6 brides cancel their wedding day. We refunded 100% of their deposits without question.

What is your favorite element of the wedding day? It’s not a regular occurrence but that spotlight dance at the conclusion of the reception. Just the bride and groom sharing that special moment together, you can just see their love. I feel like the 1st dance often times is coordinated and just a show for the guests. Remove all those distractions and  the bride and groom share that dance together is just heart melting.

What is the one song you think everyone should play at their reception? And the one song they should avoid?  We are family by Sister Sledge is the perfect wedding day anthem. Two families joining together sharing that moment on the Dancefloor without judgement, screaming their heads off, so much energy in the room. Love it. But, on the “Do Not Play List” is any new HIPHOP and rap. It’s horrible! As a Dj we are charged with the task of programming music that hits all age ranges from 16 to 60, that music does NOT. It alienated a large portion of the guests. Throwbacks on the other hand are HIGHLY encouraged. This is how we do it > Trap Queen

If you had to plan your own wedding over again, what would you do differently?  Hire a coordinator. With 16yrs of wedding experience, I was sure that I had it covered. From table setup to string lights to setting our arbor. I was completely shot, dog tired by the time ceremony rolled around. To have that time back and to spend with my family would be priceless.

What do you feel makes your company unique from your competitors?  There are so many ways and styles of being a Dj. I truly feel that Party Solution has found its niche. We provide talented DJ’s that mix the brides music. We aren’t there to be the center of attention, no selfie sticks, no comedy. The perfect mix of elegance on the mic and energy from our mixing. Listening to all 6 minutes of Billie Jean by the late great MJ at a wedding can pull down the energy level quite a bit. Before that happens on a PSE Dancefloor we are already doing the Apache or singing “it takes two to make a thing go right”

What should every couple remember or keep in mind when choosing entertainment for their wedding?  The term Dj can mean so many different definitions to so many brides. Find your definition and find the Dj that fits that to a T. If it’s over the top MC, or the reserved Dj that will just run an iTunes playlist create your vision and find the best person to help create it.
